Doug supports allowing workers to earn paid sick time off and raising the minimum wage. He opposed the so-called Right-to-Work legislation that would have lowered wages, and he continues to fight other anti-worker legislation.

Doug supports law enforcement, while also advocating for the building of a stronger relationship between the officers and the communities they serve. Common-sense gun laws are needed to make Missouri safer not only for our first responders but for all Missourians.

Doug supports fully funding public education, permanently raising teacher pay, investing in pre-K for low-income families, and maintaining the traditional 5-day school week.

Doug supports a woman’s right to make her own reproductive healthcare decisions and to have access to critical healthcare like abortion, IVF, and birth control.

Doug supports less government interference in the lives of Missourians. From librarians being told what books are allowed on the shelves to doctors being told what essential healthcare services they can provide, the Republican-led legislature has gone too far.

Doug supports and prioritizes efforts to attract quality employers to Missouri. Ensuring a well-educated, highly-trained workforce and encouraging entrepreneurs to start businesses here is crucial.

MAKE HEALTHCARE ACCESSIBLE AND AFFORDABLE

Doug supports Medicaid expansion to increase access and affordability throughout Missouri, especially in rural areas where hospitals are closing at an alarming rate. He supports creative efforts to encourage programs to train more young Missourians in skilled healthcare careers to create local jobs and make care readily available.

HELP SENIORS

Doug supports efforts to ensure our seniors are able to remain in their homes without the burden of rising taxes and other costs. He fought for programs to ensure seniors have access to both in-home care as well as care outside the home when it becomes necessary. He continues to fight against grifters and scam artists who prey on our seniors.

ADVANCE REAL ETHICS REFORM

Doug supports real ethics reform that prevents millionaires, mega-donors, and their lobbyists from buying off our elected officials. He is a proponent of doing away with “pay-to-play” politics and ensuring a system that works for all Missourians, not just the wealthy and well-connected.
